The principal author of the Three Phase ISM tool is Eric Watson. In the summer of 2005, while Eric was a rising senior at the University of Nebraska at Kearney, he participated in the SARA (Southeastern Association for Research in Astronomy) Reseach Experience for Undergraduates (REU) program. During this program, he spent his time at Clemson University, where his main effort was in constructing this tool. Co-authors of the tool were Eric's REU advisor Brad Meyer and webnucleo lead developer Jason Brown.
