This page will briefly describe how to use this tool to upload your own matrix for sparse storage. The uploaded matrix must be in the proper XML format. To create a matrix in the correct XML format, please see the the Excel or Perl tutorials.

Upload Matrix

After clicking the 'Launch Sparse Matrix Tool' button located on the main tool page, the sparse matrix writer tool will open in a separate window as shown in the image below.

Upload Matrix

In this panel, you either select to use the default matrix or to launch the upload tool to upload your own matrix. For this tutorial we are going to upload our own matrix, so click the Launch Upload Tool button.

A window will pop up asking for the name of the file to be uploaded:

Data Upload Tool

The Browse button allows you to locate the file you want to upload. For this tutorial we will use the matrix illustrated on the front page of this tool. If you have not done so, please download this matrix, and save it on your system as my_upload_matrix.xml.

Browse Files

Click the OK button in the Data Upload Tool. The file will be uploaded to WebNucleo, and you should receive a success message in the Upload Matrix panel of the Sparse Matrix Tool:

Upload Success

Your matrix has now been uploaded. For an explanation of the rest of the tool, please see the Beginner Tutorial.
